About the Founder

After traveling the globe with her family, Katrina Morrison was inspired to create a tour company that would host families of color to destinations abroad.
“There has never been a tour company designed specifically for our families. I knew that if I didn’t do it, it would not be done.”
Combining 20 years of experience as a flight attendant and travel agent, Katrina began crafting the Mocha Travel brand while on furlough in 2020 from the airlines. But it didn’t start there. While on vacation with her family in Cuba in 2019, she began curating itineraries for families she hoped one day would join her on these journeys.
A former home school parent, Katrina is passionate about showing her children the world and building spaces to empower others to do the same. In 2013 she published the blog My Mommy Flies that explores the ends and outs of being a flight attendant mom.
She founded an online community in 2018 to further support and celebrate women of color traveling the world while raising global citizens. In the Mocha Travel Lifestyle Community she provides engaging content and travel tips during her weekly live broadcast.
As a travel writer and influencer, she’s contributed to media outlets including South Fulton Lifestyle, Working Women, and Conde Nast.
