Katrina Morrison founded Mocha Travel after being inspired by her travels with her family around the world. She noticed a gap in the market for tour companies catered specifically to families of color traveling abroad. With her vision clear, Katrina stated, “There has never been a tour company designed specifically for our families. I knew that if I didn’t do it, it would not be done.”

Bringing together 20 years of experience as a flight attendant and travel agent, Katrina began shaping the Mocha Travel brand in 2020 while on furlough from the airlines. Her journey began earlier, though. While vacationing in Cuba with her family in 2019, she started designing itineraries for other families, hoping they would join her on these adventures. Katrina, a former homeschooling parent, is dedicated to showing her children the world and creating spaces that empower others to do the same. 

In 2013, she launched the blog My Mommy Flies, which details the life of a flight attendant mom. In 2018, she created an online community to support and celebrate women of color who travel the world while raising global citizens. In the Mocha Travel Lifestyle Community, she offers engaging content and travel tips during her weekly live broadcasts. As a travel writer and influencer, Katrina has contributed to media outlets including South Fulton Lifestyle, Working Women, and Conde Nast.
