Yes, U.S. citizens need a tourist visa to enter Ghana. You’ll also need a valid passport and a yellow fever vaccination certificate.

All travelers, including minors, must have a valid U.S. passport and a visa for Ghana. Special instructions apply for minor children’s visas, including notarized consent forms if only one parent is traveling. We will provide support for visa tourist application for US passport holders.

Yes, your doctor can issue a waiver for this vaccine and you must provide a letter from your doctor signed and dated upon entry to Ghana.

This is a small group guided experience. Our trip size is typically 4-6 families. 

This tour is designed to accommodate most ages, but some sites in Cape Coast require navigating challenging terrain. We recommend discussing any mobility issue with us in advance of booking to ensure a comfortable experience. Email us at hello@mocha-travel.com

Our package includes premium accommodations, daily breakfast, curated guided experiences, ground transportation in Ghana, flights to Kumasi from Accra and select meals. International flights, travel insurance, and additional personal expenses are not included. 

We host virtual sessions at 6 months, 3 months, and 1 month before departure to ensure you’re fully prepared. All sessions are recorded, so if you miss one, you can catch up at your convenience.

We suggest individuals plan to spend $150 to $200 per day, based on your personal spending habits. Note that gratuities for your driver and guide, as well as dining experiences, are included. However, alcoholic beverages, personal expenses, and any shopping or spa treatments are not included.

Trip Notes: Information for Your Journey

  • Land-Only Package: This package includes accommodations, guided experiences, and activities within Ghana. International flights from the U.S. to Ghana are not included but will be available as an add-on option about 9 months prior to departure.
  • Non-Refundable Payments: Due to the nature of securing your trip components in advance, please be aware that all payments are non-refundable after February 1, 2025. 
  • Travel Insurance: We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance after booking to cover any unforeseen changes to your plans or emergencies that may arise.
  • Payment Installments: You have the option to pay in full or a payment plan at no additional cost. All payments installments are automated with specific dates listed on the Order Form. Please review and note these dates carefully.
  • Payment Schedule: Payments must be made according to the installment plan listed. To adjust installment dates, please contact our office before your upcoming payment. The final payment date for this trip is Friday August 8, 2025. 
  • Online Account Access: You will have access to your account online to make payments, change payment cards, and view their current balances. 

  • Travel Requirements:

    • Ghanaian Tourist Visa 

  • Special Instructions for Minor Children’s Visa Applications: When applying for visas for children under 18, both parents or guardians may be required to submit notarized consent forms.

  • Pre-Travel Virtual Sessions: To make your journey as seamless as possible, we’ll host virtual sessions at the 6-month, 3-month, and 1-month marks before departure. These sessions will cover everything from visa support to cultural insights, preparing you for the adventure ahead. Recordings will be available for those unable to join live.

  • Accommodations: Stay at the Mövenpick or a similar high-quality hotel. For families of four or more, we’ll arrange either two adjacent rooms or a two-bedroom suite (connecting rooms requested but not guaranteed). Rollaway beds are available in select room types. We’ll review your bedding preferences after booking.
